January 19th was my birthday and this year I got a nice Canon digital SLR, the Canon XTi with the EF-S 18-55 lens. Now, I’m no professional photographist, that’s the word they use, but from what I’ve read and seen with my photos is that this camera takes really good photos. Here’s a photo of my dog Jackson.

What I don’t know is what is the difference between a zoom-able lens and a non-zoom-able lens. Post your answers in the comments, I’m going to go take about a hundred more photos of my dog.
Happy Birthday to ME!
From Jake’s Awesome Inc video blog. Make your own fake steve!
So you thought I forgot about Awesome Inc eh? Well I showed you! So here it is: My first video podcast/blog.
Today I discussed
- The MacBook Air and how while other ultra light laptops have 3g that isn’t a must
- How iTunes Rentals kicked the pants off my HD DVD player.
At CES this year Gizmodo brought a device called TV-B-Gone which is a one-button turn off for all the TVs around you. Very clever idea! CES is full of these TVs which all look the same and there no innovation except for the occasional new format that no one cares about (2 by 4K what?). Gizmodo decided to turn off some TVs as a prank, they even hired a new guy to do it so no one would really get in trouble.
In my opinion the joke was really funny the only part that wasn’t was when they turned off the TV of the guy giving a presentation. Besides that it was innocent fun. A little corperation-bull and some bull being thrown back in their face.
What am I getting at? Don’t hate Gizmodo for the joke: hate them for the awful blog and lies they report. If you have ever read their blog you know what they are about and inviting them to CES was your own fault. Gizmodo was very cool about it in the sense that they were prepared to take the consequences. That my friend is the only positive thing I can say about Gizmodo.
I will not link to the Gizmodo video showing the prank because I do not want to give Gizmodo that much promotion.

In 2007 we had a lot of release dates being, well, released. Just cause someone says something will be released doesn’t mean it will be and that angers me. Here’s the most disappointments for me!
1. Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness
When the story of Penny Arcade having a game for not only Windows but Mac and Linux hit Digg in 2006 I was excited. Penny Arcade having a game: awesome. Penny Arcade having a game for Mac and Linux? Double-awesome. Then at this years PAX they said the game would be released after for Xbox Live Arcade. The thought then occurred to me that it could be on Wii Ware in 2008 too but that would be later.
The game was said to be released by Christmas 2007, it’s almost 2008 and I have no game on my Mac. Penny Arcade has no comment on their site about a delay either.
How awesome did that Wii Balance Board look when you first saw it at the E3-thingy? I know Nintendo never gave a date for America but Wikipedia said around Christmas, well it’s after and we’ve heard nothing. It’s been out in Japan for a while now and there is no reason why it should take that long to translate a video game, I’m sorry.
3. The Aquabats new cd “Charge!!!”
The Aquabats have been recording a new CD for a while now. It is the sequel to “Charge!!” that will be called “Charge!!!”. Their forums all say “It should be out by the end of the year” we’ll it again is the end of the year and not even a blog post! Where are my heros?! Come in Bat Commander can you hear me?!
I am now launching Awesome Inc! A podcast network with “Awesome” written all over it! We will launch with a technology podcast and we will be doing a gaming podcast as well as others!
Happy 6th Birthday to ZicklePop Productions! As you know ZicklePop Productions was started on December 25th 2001 and it will end on… Nah it won’t end.
I have been watching Don Imus since late 2004 and I’ve always been a person to support free speech, no matter how outrageous it is, but using your right to free speech to limit others is awful.
Fox News reported on Don Imus saying that Tom Brokaw is not the most courageous person. This is news? Tom Brokaw isn’t a damn warrior he is an ex-talking head for the nightly news. He sat behind a camera and read what he was given to say. Why is this news?
Now before the damn right wing starts commenting I am going to comment on The Huffington Post. These people are just as awful as Fox News reporting that “Imus Should Have Stayed On the Ranch.” with reasons like:
“For some reason, the RFD feed starts off with local New York news, intended for his WABC audience. Then there’s a break and he comes back on. Odd.“
Did this blogger never see him on MSNBC? If you’ve never seen his show before why are you commenting on it?
“RFD also doesn’t know how to shoot him. Most of the time his eyes are obscured by the brim of his cowboy hat.”
He does that on purpose, he’s a freaking cowboy!
“Since most of his “Nappy head hos” supporters were right wingers, he has decided, at a time when the rest of the country has abandoned the party of Bush, to become a flaming Republican.”
Imus is NOT a Republican and he never was a liberal “nut-job” or a right-wing “wack-job.” There is such thing as being open to either side. I am not a right-winger and I support him. It’s called supporting the constitution for all and not to some. Does this mean Craig Crawford is a republican too?
“He has two African-Americans on the daily panel. They rarely say anything, and one of them, Tony Powell, who is there ostensibly to do sports, doesn’t seem very interested in either sports or being there in the first place, given his obvious discomfort in the studio. “
Tony no longer does the sports and they do talk often and have their own comedic spots. The show is called Imus In The Moring not Black Comedians In The Morning.
His show is the polar opposite of nearly every trend in America…both politically and stylistically. Period.
Lord forbid his show live up to the standards of The Today Show and Morning Joe. Why don’t you go attack The Colbert Report? His show is just like Imus’: Sarcasm with real Interviews.
Time Magazine is another source I cannot begin to tell you how awful they are. These people said Imus was going to do his Nappy Headed Ho thing again with a misquote of his first show. Well I have the first show right here and tell me if you think Imus isn’t sorry at all for what he’s done. How the hell is my researching abilities better then Time Magazine?
Now available at shop.zicklepop.com you can buy a lot of high quality products from my Zazzle store. Whats new in this version of the store is now you can buy the mousepad you’ve seen on my Flickr posts and been telling me you want, your wish is now a reality.
